Family owned and operated by brothers Tyler and Riley Breen and based out of Colchester Vt, RNT is a small general contracting company with the core values of craftsmanship and communication. Both Tyler and Riley have had an interest in building from a very young age which is where their eagerness to learn all aspects of the trade stemmed from. Although both naturally skilled as carpenters Tyler and Riley have honed their skills by working on and managing high end home builds and remodels, starting in high school and extending into the years following. With this experience not only did they pick up and hone valuable skills as craftsmen, but they also saw first-hand some of the weaknesses that are prevalent in the industry. This led them to create RNT, with the aim to deliver their clients a reliable and honest company that alleviates some of these weaknesses found in the industry and deliver the high-quality craftsmanship clients have come to expect from Tyler and Riley.
I’ve lived in Colchester my whole life and grew up heavily involved in the Colchester basketball program. Following high school my passion for basketball was quickly replaced by my love of carpentry and the craftsmanship that goes with it. I spent 7 years working in high end residential construction where I gained knowledge of the latest building science and assemblies along with best construction practices. Not only was I able to develop skills during this time as a builder but also as a leader and manager as a project manager on multiple complex builds. Having gained many skills in this time, I also saw many shortcomings in the industry. This inspired me, along with my brother Riley, to start our own business the delivers on the promises we make of high-quality craftsmanship and communication.
In my free time you'll likely find me spending time with my pup, Anouk, or traveling throughout New England with my girlfriend as she continues her education. When I'm not doing that, I also enjoy spending time on my motorcycle as well as doing some recreational shooting.
Also growing up in Colchester and sharing my brother's interest in building I decided to follow in his footsteps and got involved in building while I was still in high school. During that time, I worked alongside him through the summers and then on to full-time in the years after graduating. In this time, I was able to quickly pick up many of the skills and techniques needed to be a highly efficient builder. I also saw the importance that proper planning and attention to detail plays in a project and place this, along with quality craftsmanship, in the forefront of all my work. To me seeing all these intentional details come together in the end is the best part of what we do!
In my free time I like to camp throughout Vermont with my girlfriend and love to be on the lake bass fishing as well.
